Vertiv PowerSwitch 7000
Vertiv PowerSwitch 7000 allows for the creation of highly available infrastructure in data centers, increasing the reliability of critical systems by seamlessly switching between power sources.
[Warsaw, May 23] Vertiv, a global leader in digital infrastructure, has introduced a new generation of static power source switch, Vertiv PowerSwitch 7000. This redundancy-based solution, designed for uninterrupted work infrastructure, is another element in Vertiv’s comprehensive portfolio, which supports the development and operation of key IT systems in the financial, industrial, and data center industries.
Key Features
- Redundant architecture eliminates single points of failure
- Automatic switching between independent power sources
- Intelligent diagnostics and monitoring
- Modular design for easy maintenance and upgrade
“Protection and reliability of power supply are becoming increasingly important for data center operators, especially when planning to increase computing capacity,” said Greg Hoge, Global Product Director at Vertiv. “PowerSwitch 7000 is a combination of operational flexibility, easy maintenance, and intelligent diagnostics. This is a new standard for power distribution switches used in the most demanding applications.”
Service and Support
The new system provides innovative service features, including:
- Segmented construction, separating high-voltage areas from service areas, increasing safety for operators and facilitating maintenance
- Front-accessible service, allowing for maintenance without interrupting power supply, reducing downtime and minimizing risk of outages
- Modular design, including hot-swappable fans and air filters, for easy maintenance and upgrade
The PowerSwitch 7000 monitorics system captures power parameters at high frequency during switching and records them. The built-in 9-inch display with control panel allows for display of voltage waveforms, making it a diagnostic tool supporting analysis of power disturbances. This intelligent monitoring system provides site administrators with easy access to information helping to quickly identify power disturbances and respond to them.
The Vertiv PowerSwitch 7000 can be seamlessly integrated with other Vertiv solutions for power management, such as UPS and PDU systems, creating a cohesive ecosystem for electrical protection. The solution is supported by Vertiv’s global network of qualified experts in the Vertiv Global Services department, offering comprehensive project, service, and digital services to maximize system availability and minimize downtime.
